L. VANCE BROWN

Vance Brown is a Shareholder and Partner in the Oklahoma City firm of Elias Books Brown & Nelson, P.C. His legal experience is in civil litigation, corporate risk management and counseling. Mr. Brown’s primary focus is with oil and gas industry clients. For nearly 30 years, he has advocated hundreds of cases in front of numerous Oklahoma state district and appellate courts, Oklahoma regulatory agencies, U.S. District Courts and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. A significant portion of his practice also involves business entity transactions.

Active in the legal community, Mr. Brown is the immediate past Chair of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Energy and Natural Resource Law Section. He is also a member and former President of the Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society and an active member of DRI, a national association of defense, insurance and corporate counsel. Mr. Brown is a frequent lecturer at CLE seminars on topics concerning oil and gas exploration and environmental issues.

Mr. Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1981. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1984. He is admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state and federal courts, as well as the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.
