Brian Matula’s primary areas of practice are title examination and oil and gas law. He has over fifteen years of experience representing oil and gas industry participants, ranging from major oil companies and large independent producers to individuals. This experience includes the litigation or arbitration of disputes relating to, among other issues, title issues, gas purchase contracts, drainage, oil and gas accounting, well drilling and operations, lease cancellation, gas balancing, and royalty claims. He has participated on litigation teams that defended numerous proposed class actions. He has also prosecuted and defended many appeals before the Supreme Court of the State of Oklahoma and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Mr. Matula graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1991, where the faculty awarded him with the Hershberger, Patterson, Jones & Roth Award for unique academic achievement in the area of energy and oil and gas law. |
